In a terrorist attack, a suicide bomber tried unsuccessfully to bring down a passenger aircraft by detonating explosives hidden in his underwear. This event generated worldwide interest in advanced airport security devices, capable of detecting explosives hidden within clothing. Wired Magazine approached us to create an illustration depicting this state of the art technology, featuring cutaways to reveal the working of the technologies that make the system work. The final piece became the centerpiece visual for a monthly feature in Wired Magazine.
